The Harvard Islamic Society (HIS) and the Harvard University Muslim Alumni (HUMA) invite applications for the position of Muslim Chaplain at Harvard University.

The Harvard Islamic Society (HIS) and the Harvard University Muslim Alumni (HUMA) invite applications for the position of Muslim Chaplain at Harvard University. The position will be a part time one and will report to a Board of Overseers formed by alumni and current students.

Harvard University has a large and growing Muslim student population with evolving and expanding needs for religious programming, community organization and support. The community is looking for a designated Muslim Chaplain who may address the needs of this pluralistic community of sunnis, shias and Muslims of various schools, backgrounds, and practices. The Muslim Chaplain at Harvard University will be a part time position (equivalent to ~20 hours/week) beginning the summer of 2015.

The Chaplain will serve a diverse Muslim population across the various Harvard schools and the general Harvard community, with a particular focus on the undergraduate Muslim community. The chaplain's  four main roles and functions are: Community-Building, Counseling, Teaching, and Advocacy. She or he will collaborate with members of the Harvard and broader area religious and non-religious communities, chiefly, but not exclusively, through membership with the Harvard Chaplains in collaboration with the Harvard Islamic Society (HIS).
